We are currently seeking an individuals to fill the following positions:

Staff Accountant

 

Responsibilities:

  • Timely, proper and accurate recording of financial transactions based on GAAP.

  • Maintenance of accurate financial records and files in accordance with approved accounting standards.

  • Ensures compliance with all grants and other regulatory financial reporting requirements.

  • Ensures all account analyses are prepared on a monthly basis; investigates material budget variances.

  • Timely, proper and accurate processing of payroll transactions.

  • Maintenance of centralized agency payroll records and reports.

  • Timely, proper and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions, such as entering bills in QuickBooks, preparation of checks for payment, reconciliation with vendor statements, among others.

  • Handling daily banking activities and petty cash.  Monitor cash flow in close coordination with the Senior Accountant.

  • Assist in the preparation of grant and other contract renewals.

  • Prepares monthly grant vouchers and/or expense reimbursements reports.

  • Timely follow-up of grants receivable.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including reconciling bank statements and subsidiary ledgers.

  • Reconcile, on a quarterly basis, salaries and FICA per general ledger with Form 941.

  • Prepare yearend account analysis and schedules; adjusting entries, lead sheets, and any other items necessary for the annual audit and tax returns.

Qualifications:

Minimum formal education of Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum two years job-related experience.  This position requires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field, such as the ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong computer skills; strong analytical skills; and a team player. Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software, not-for-profit experience.

COOK/CHEF

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibility of the Chef is to prepare site meals in cooperation with the Director of Food/Site Services.  The Chef is reports to the Dir. of Food/Site Services.

  • Execute detailed assigned menus, utilizing provided ingredients in accordance with direction from the Director of Food Service and in compliance with all New York City Department of Health regulations.

  • Prepare and supervise all significant primary recipe ingredients including, but not limited to: washing, coring, paring, and slicing of ingredients.

  • Enforce the basic principles of good nutrition and food safety/sanitization as related to specific site operations.

  • Monitor site inventory and advise supervisor of inventory status including need for supplies to operate and maintain day-to-day kitchen operations.

  • Coordinate with site coordinators for timely and appropriate meal delivery.

  • Supervising kitchen volunteers during site operations in preparation and delivery of meals.

  • Act as a representative of Momentum in the community to create positive visibility and promote the support of others.

  • Contribute to interdepartmental collaboration to enhance overall program effectiveness.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School graduate.  Minimum two years in food preparation and cooking.  Must have the ability to work independently and under time-constraint pressures.  Good supervisory skills.  Flexible.  Familiarity with HIV/AIDS nutrition issues a plus.  New York State Food Handlers Permit is required.  Computer literate.

Treatment Adherence Nurse

(Full Time)

 

Responsibilities:

Momentum’s HIV Treatment Adherence Program is a collaborative effort between the William F. Ryan Community Health Center and the Momentum Project.  In collaboration with the HIV Clinical Director of the Ryan Center s/he oversees day-to-day program operations of Treatment Adherence Program.  S/he also provides direct services to clients.  S/he reports to the Coordinator of Nursing and Treatment at Momentum.

  • Schedules work flow.

  • Produces intakes and assessments.

  • Monitors ongoing client needs.

  • Evaluate clients’ health status. 

  • Promotes continuity of care by facilitating access to primary care providers.

  • Conducts HIV treatment adherence in-service education and training. 

  • Provides individual and group treatment adherence education counseling.

  • Ensures that program staff have current treatment and medication information about clients from primary care providers.

  • Maintains updated and accurate charting on each client. 

 

Qualifications:

Licensed Registered Nurse, with BSN; MSN preferred.  Minimum 2 years experience in HIV/AIDS.  Ability to write and communicate effectively.  Experience and skill working in multi cultural communities, gay/ lesbian/transgender clients, and MICA clients.  Basic computer skills, some data base management and report writing useful.  Bilingual, a plus.

Adherence & Support Social Worker

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and group counseling and treatment education.

  • Provides counseling on treatment adherence, including medication management.

  • Produces new client intakes, assessments, and reassessment with clients.

  • Develops services plan with clients. Revises same as needed.

  • Makes referrals and advocates with various providers on clients’ behalf.

  • Stays current on mental health and treatment issues and reports them to staff and clients.

  • Maintains detailed client records and ensures that all client level data recorded and entered into the automated clients record system (AIRS) in a timely and accurate manner.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

MSW with a minimum of 2 years experience in community health, HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance use in HIV positive individuals. Ability to write and communicate effectively. Experience and skill working in multi-cultural communities, gay/lesbian/transgender clients, and MICA clients. Basic computers skills, some database management and report writing useful. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish required.
