Momentum Project Volunteer and Supporter, Betty Comden Kyle, Passes Away

(New York, NY – November 29, 2006) -- The Board of Directors and staff of The Momentum Project are saddened by the death of Betty Comden Kyle, retired Momentum volunteer and supporter.  Momentum is grateful for her volunteer service provided at our St. Paul the Apostle Church site and the recent donation of her record collection of more than 300 records.  We extend our sincere condolences to the Comden and Kyle families.

Ms. Comden Kyle, along with her professional partner, Adolph Green (deceased in 2002), wrote the lyrics for some of the most celebrated musicals, including “Singing in the Rain,” “Bells are Ringing,” and “Wonderful Town.”  She passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd at the age of 89.

Ms. Betty Comden Kyle’s music collection, including autographed copies of Leonard Bernstein’s Beethoven, “The Nine Symphonies,” and “Bernstein Songfest,” St. Louis Woman, and Oscar Levant’s Piano Concerto, “For the Record,” will be auctioned on Ebay beginning World AIDS Day.
