-
Green tea is a very delicious beverage with a
long history of use primarily in Asian cultures.
-
Research
demonstrates that regular drinking of green tea as part of healthy lifestyle can
help to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease by improving cholesterol profile
(the ratio of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol).
-
There is also
evidence that green tea plays a role in reducing the risk for certain cancers
and strengthening the immune system.
-
Researchers found that specific molecules in
green tea have affinity for the CD4 cells. By binding with the CD4 cell, these
molecules could prevent the binding of the HIV to CD4 cell.
-
All of the above health benefits of green tea
have to be viewed in the context of a comprehensive approach to health. Drinking
green tea alone will not make up for
poor eating habits and lack of
physical activity.
